Jeffrey A. Badger, Ph.D. Who I Am I am a mechanical engineer with a specialty in grinding. I am known as "The Grinding Doc" from my magazine column about grinding. I have a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering with a research focus on grinding and have worked for numerous companies doing grinding. I currently work independently as a consultant, visiting companies around the world that want to improve their grinding operations and their understanding of grinding processes. Dr. Badger has worked in grinding facilities around the world, from high-tech grinding of turbine-blades for jet-engines to high-production grinding of drill bits.
